My son's preschool is having 100 days of school day.

He has to bring in 100 of something.  Any suggestions for something different and unique?

How about 100 of those little school supplies you can get for 50 cents at the dollar store? They have small pencils, erasers, etc. in them,. Super cute.

Puzzle Pieces!!! Fairly easy since the simple puzzles are 100 pieces anyway.

Also, popcorn kernals, paper clips, and sunflower seeds.

Party favors (party stores always sell fun little trinkets in bulk like whistles, pencils, balloons, little cars, finger puppets, etc.)

Hmm... there are a lot of good suggestions here. I will add:

paper umbrellas (like what come in drinks)
Tiny animals (you can buy bags of tiny plastic frogs, snakes, etc, for 89 cents at Wal-Mart)
Names of friends and family on little pieces of paper.
Homemade fortunes (sit down with him at the computer and help him come up with them, and then he can cut and fold them, and hand them out to classmates)

I LOVE Electric Firefly's idea about the 100 signatures! It might be fun for him. Of course the 100 candy hearts would be fun, actually, ANYTHING edible would be fun!

Wow..people have some good suggestions for you. I love the pennies one. What about toy cars.cheap ones from the dollar store (already mentioned)-or those party favor things like goofy hats or horns to blow..make the teacher love you :-)

Ah, memories. We clipped photos and words from magazines and glued them to index cards. Another time we did Cheerios. Much easier!

100 Pieces of Recycling !!!

Plastic water bottles, soda cans, plastic and paper bags.... etc

Free and when the class sees all the plastic and metal displayed that he collected in a short time from an average household.... it makes a point! When you are finished it goes to recycling and you don't have 100 trinkets to keep.

I recently bought a trash can to use just for recycling and set it next to the "Dirty Trash" .. I've been amazed at how much we use that can be recycled.

100 Business Cards-Take him to different offices and explain that you are trying to collect 100 business cards... They may even offer to give you cards of some of their friends, coworkers, and other business people they deal with! (But if you get 100 of the same it will be boring)

100 pogs? 100 stuffed animals-those should be cheap and easy to get, go to a thrift shop, usually they sell them in packages of about 10-30 for just a few dollars (plus you get the added benefit of your child having several playtoys, or you can donate them afterwards)

This is wonderful! I am a kindergarten teacher -- as soon as I finish typing this, I'm going to figure out how to print off all these ideas. For my parents next year.
