My 10 month old was nursing and dropping off to sleep in my lap. He paused for less than a beat, passed gas, and went immediately back to the business of nursing and dozing. What is it about boys/men and gas? Perhaps boobs and gas are part of some perfect man existense that I don't yet understand. My husband would like to point out at this time, "What, its not like we're that complex."

One time when I had nursed my guy in bed, he had fallen asleep, so I left him in bed with my husband and me. An hour later, he woke up screaming. I couldn't sooth him except for offering him the breast. He nursed for about two seconds and then let out the loudest fart I've heard from him! He broke off of the boob and was all smiles and giggles after that. Boobs and farts were the only thing that calmed his screaming.
